The Hunt Baptist Association’s Family Gathering is hosted going to be hosted by our church, April 7th & 8th! We are in need of lots of help with greeters, parking lot attendants, runners, etc. If you are able to help, please see Mrs. Sue to sign up and get more information.
Throughout the year, the HBA has several large training events and celebrations for area churches to participate in. On April 7th and 8th, Vansickle Baptist Church will be hosting the HBA’s Spring Family Gathering for 2018. There will be many opportunities to serve, worship, engage in discipleship, and celebrate what God is doing in various churches from our area. The keynote speaker in the Worship Rally is Dr. Bobby Worthington, Professor of Evangelism @ Criswell College. In that service, our very own Philip Farmer will be directing a HBA Music Minister’s Praise Team, and Steve Payne will be leading a Mass Choir made up of congregants from the area. A fellowship and meal will begin at 5pm and is free IF you attend one of the conferences. Each of the following breakout sessions will be offered at 4pm:
- Church Security & Crisis Management
- Minister & Church Taxes
- Dynamic Deacon Ministries
- Starting Good News Clubs in Schools
- How to create Great Graphics
- Preaching Forum: Scriptural Sufficiency
- Faith-based Counseling Ministry
- Overview of the Book of Proverbs
- Getting Started in Christian Writing
- Micro-Sites for Your Church
We will have a choir made up of various members from the churches in our area. If you would like to be a part of the Mass Choir, rehearsals start at 3pm.
We will also be hosting a VBS Workers’ Clinic running simultaneously here at the church, as well as a Children’s Rally, each of which begin at 4pm. A special VBS Preview will begin at 6pm.
There will also be two different Children’s Rallies for kids in grades K-5th–at 4pm and 6pm. One is led by illusionist, Gene Carroll; while the other is led by CEF and will be a Go-Power Rally.
Ministry booths open from 3:45pm to 6:30pm
On Saturday, April 7th at 9am, we will be having our VBS Clinic for the association. Later that night, we will have an area wide Youth Rally for all students in 6th-12th grades (6pm). There will be food, music, drama, and an incredible message.
