As school year begins to wind down, we know that you’re looking for some exciting things to do this summer! Well, we’re delighted to tell you about some AMAZING things that are going on here at the church! One of those is our annual trip to Falls Creek in Oklahoma for youth summer camp, June 12th – 17th. We were forced to make some new changes to our camp experience this year — as such, we’re going one week earlier and we’ll be in a new (to us) cabin.
If you’re not familiar with Falls Creek, we’re happy to share a little bit about one of our favorite places on earth!
The Parent Information Packet which discusses many of these details and includes each of the release forms can be downloaded here.
Registration forms are below.
➡️ What is Falls Creek?
Falls Creek is the LARGEST youth camp in the WORLD. They are capable of hosting up to 7,000 students in one week! One Week! That is remarkable. And, while the size itself is pretty awesome, the things that happen during a week at Falls Creek are even more incredible.
➡️ Where do you sleep?
We will be staying in a cabin which holds up to 96 people (1 dorm with 50 people, and a 2nd dorm with 36, plus a guest room for 6 and a cooks quarters for 4)! So, we’ve got lots of room for you and all of your friends!
➡️ What do you do for fun at camp?
Games and Recreation are a major part of camp! They’ve got lots of tournaments in which churches can compete: 3-point basketball shoot out, disc golf, horseshoes, and volleyball, among others. If tournaments AREN’T your thing, maybe you’ll enjoy the skate park, High Ropes Challenge / Obstacle Course, Lake activities, or the hiking trails. And because its nestled in the heart of the Arbuckle Mountains, Falls Creek has some of the best trails to walk. For the truly brave of heart, there is even a 5K run for students and sponsors to compete in.
But the best part of the week… an opportunity to grow closer in your relationship with God. Students will be challenged to engage God in some of the most intense services with amazing worship and in-depth bible study in the tabernacle and in our own individual cabin times.
➡️ When is it?
We are going during the 2nd week of camp (June 12-17) and our Camp Leaders for the week will include Nick Person as our camp pastor and worship will be led by Worship Collective.
➡️ What is the theme for 2023?
The theme this year is “Jesus.” and it’s based on 1 Timothy 2:3-7 — “This is good, and pleases God our Savior, who wants EVERYONE TO BE SAVED and TO COME TO THE KNOWLEDGE OF THE TRUTH. For there is one God and ONE MEDIATOR BETWEEN GOD AND MANKIND, the man Christ Jesus, who gave himself as a ransom for all. For this I WAS APPOINTED A HERALD, AN APOSTLE (I am telling the truth; I am not lying) AND A TEACHER of the Gentiles IN FAITH AND TRUTH.”
➡️ How much does it cost?
Prices are based on our fundraiser (Dinner & Dessert Auction). Tentatively, the prices will be…
◾ EARLY REGISTRATION (≤ April 23rd): $55
◾ NORMAL REGISTRATION (April 24th through May 15th): $85
◾ LATE REGISTRATION (After May 15th): $165
✳️ A $40 deposit is required to secure registration
➡️ Are scholarships available?
Yes, there are a limited number of partial / full scholarships available. We never want finances to be a reason that a student cannot attend Falls Creek. We do ask families to contribute as much as possible toward the cost of camp, so we can help an greater number of students and families with camp. If you are in need of financial assistance, make sure to fill out your scholarship application, no later than May 15th! Scholarship applications can be downloaded here….
➡️ Parent’s Meeting
There is a mandatory parent’s meeting that all students and parent’s must attend on June 4th (one week before camp) in the Fellowship Hall at 11:45-ish am. We will highlight some of the new and changes at Falls Creek and discuss the expectations for 2023.
All three forms must be completed for Students.
Sponsors only need to complete Forms 1 and 2.
