Be praying for our next elder. Per our church by-laws, the church will be able to submit names of potential elders to be considered.
Here are the qualifications listed in the by-laws and the scriptures that provide further guidelines:
- He shall have been an active member of the Church for at least two (2) years.
- He shall have evidenced a calling and giftedness for pastoral (shepherding) ministry.
- He shall have practiced giving at least a tenth of his income to support the ministries of this Church.

1Timothy 3
- Above reproach
- Husband of one wife
- Sober-minded
- Self-controlled
- Respectable
- Hospitable
- Able to teach
- Not a drunkard
- Not violent, but gentle
- Not quarrelsome
- Not a lover of money
- Manage his household well
- Not a recent convert
- Good reputation with outsiders
Titus 1
- Above reproach
- Husband of one wife
- Children are believers
- Not arrogant
- Not quick-tempered

- Not greedy for gain
- Hospitable
