Be praying for our next elder. Per our church by-laws, the church will be able to submit names of potential elders to be considered.

Here are the qualifications listed in the by-laws and the scriptures that provide further guidelines:

  1. He shall have been an active member of the Church for at least two (2) years.
  2. He shall have evidenced a calling and giftedness for pastoral (shepherding) ministry.
  3. He shall have practiced giving at least a tenth of his income to support the ministries of this Church.

1Timothy 3

  • Above reproach
  • Husband of one wife
  • Sober-minded
  • Self-controlled
  • Respectable
  • Hospitable
  • Able to teach
  • Not a drunkard
  • Not violent, but gentle
  • Not quarrelsome
  • Not a lover of money
  • Manage his household well
  • Not a recent convert
  • Good reputation with outsiders

Titus 1

  • Above reproach
  • Husband of one wife
  • Children are believers
  • Not arrogant
  • Not quick-tempered
  • Not drunkard
  • Not violent
  • Not greedy for gain
  • Hospitable
  • Lover of good
  • Self-controlled
  • Upright
  • Holy and disciplined

  • Shepherd the flock
